intermittent start problem: When you turn key all electrical fails with a click sound. By all electrical that includes ignition, lights, radio presets, door locks...the car is dead. After several minutes it seems to reset itself and starts normally. note the battery is new and no fuses are blown.

Well maintained, no noticeable problems or noises/smells until this.
Here's what happened:
I went out in the morning (warm over 70 degrees F) and started the truck. I let it idle for about 45 seconds and then revved the engine 3-4 time at my kids in the window as a joke. Nothing over 3,000 RPMs, i.e. no redline. Put the truck in reverse and it stalled. Couldn't get it started and still can't. No noises or smells at that point. Put it on a tester, no codes. (of course) Drained the oil through a screen, no particulates. Fuel Pump is clicking and I'm getting fuel up to the test port. Engine turns over and occasionally gives a hollow (poomph) noise like something is happening. I have spark. The battery is good as far as I know and is holding a charge. Any ideas where i should start?

I seem to have a draw somewhere draining my battery - it'll drive/start perfect for 3 - 6 days and them bam, won't start (I've had this car for a year and a half with no problems). The first time it didn't start was about 2 weeks ago. I got it jumped and it started perfectly. Bought new battery. Worked/started great for 4 days. Wouldn't start after those 4 days of driving. Got battery charged. Brought to mechanic - battery was new, alternator tested perfect. Car started up perfect for mechanic. Drove over 1,400 miles to Detroit from MN this past wknd, worked/started perfect the whole time. Drove to work yesterday, grocery store after work - after 5 mins in grocery store, came back to my car not starting. Got jumped. Started perfect, started perfect this morning. Took to another mechanic today that said battery, alternator are good - must be a draw on battery somewhere - only thing they could see was 'security light' blinking after car is turned off and key out of ignition. Should this light be blinking All of the time? Or could this be the problem that is draining my battery every 3 - 7 days???

My 2006.5 KIA Optima will start and run, but won't accelerate almost at all. I can get it out of first gear, but it feels incredibly sluggish to shift and laborious to get up to the speed at which the automatic transmission shifts out of first and into second. I have, however gotten it into second gear, but by the time that happened I was already back in the parking lot fearing the worst. I've got no idea what's wrong and I am curious to know what I'm up against before I pay for it to be repaired. Also, and this may be important, the car only has 75k miles on it, and had just been serviced (oil changed, etc.).

I own a 2003 Volkswagen Passat GLS and it recently started making a noise that was coming from the left driver's side. I lifted it with a jack and noticed that when I put it on drive and release the brakes, the left wheel does not spin while the right one does. Before, I noticed that the left CV boot was broken and I replaced before it damaged the axle. The axle is not making any noises when I turn so I did not think that was the reason. I believe this car is a FWD so it should not be working like it is now.
My car knowledge is limited and I just want to see what kind of answers I can get before I have to pay up and go to the VW dealer where they will charge quite a bit for a diagnosis not only to mention repairs and parts.

My power door locks work fine while the van is running and for a short time after it is shut off but after about 30 seconds of turning off the van when I use the fob or the door switches all I hear is a click from the BCM and there is no movement at the door locks.

Hello I have a 2009 mustang gt. A couple of months ago my odometer, cruise control and speedometer quit working so I had to drive three hours just to get the work done. Then when I got there it was fixed in five minutes because they said the wire somehow came loose right from the transmission. Car was driving fine. Pulled in to friends house and shut off. Turned car on and tried to leave but would not hardly move when put in gear. No gear was moving. Engine with rev high but no movement. Could it be a selenoid or possible electrical problem. How can I test for electrical problem to try and pinpoint what it could be. The shifting came back the next day but started doing the same thing after I took around the block.

I had to have a motor put in my car because of a mechanic's mistake. After the motor was put in my car would cut off and I would have to give it gas for it to come back on. At first the car cut off 13 times in one day. Then the mechanic put a senor on it and it. It didn't cut off that day but the next day it did maybe 3 times. If I would come to a stop I would have to give it gas to keep it going. Then one day it wouldn't crank up. It was like that for a week. Well I crunk it up on Friday but it would only stay crunk if I kept my foot on the gas. On Sunday it crunk up and stayed crunk. We drove it and it didn't stop. I still need to know what the problem is. I'm in need of help.

cant get van to to start.starter is turning over but not turning over i checked all fuses and relays, good checked for spark,no spark disconnected fuel line under hood,no pressure turned key same result, then reconnected, disconnected one coming from tank under van finding no pressure at all. also couldnt find the fuel pressure regulator

Hi, I need some help. I started a project to clean/flush my a/c system and I replaced the compressor. I notice I did not disconnect the battery before I took it out. When I tried to start the car, I realize the fuel pump was not running the moment I turn on the key. I am not getting any voltage to the fuel pump. Is it the integrated control module? Do I need to replace it?

My 1995 GMC Jimmy 4X4 Started Chugging With White Smoke Coming From The Tailpipe, Stalled And Wouldn't Even Start To Turn Over. After Having It Towed To A Shop They Found Water In The Spark Plugs And Oil In The Radiator So They Did A Compression Test And Found A Leak In The Intake Gasket. This Car Is Worth The Cost Of That Repair. Before It Was Performed However, The Mechanic Said That Since It's No Long Hydro-locked It Should Now Turn Over. Just By Listening To The Sound Of The Car Trying To Turn Over And Failing He Decided It's A Bent Piston Rod. Knowing That The Car Is Not Worth The Cost Of That Repair, He Offered To Buy The Jimmy For $100. Does That Sound Legitimate Or Is He Taking Advantage Of Me?
Also I think that the original problem is a tank of watered down gas since it started coughing immediately after I filled it up there. This mechanic thinks that it's impossible for that to be the cause and won't write up anything I can take to the gas station for proof.

1994 taurus wagon 3.0 liter engine. The car intermittently stalls or does not want to start .It turns over. When I disconnect the negative terminal, and reconnect it after a couple of minutes. The car will start (So Far).Changed fuel filter/distributorand rotor.
Any ideas???

1998 chevy k1500 4x4 automatic.
I was driving my truck and it stalled. I tried starting it again but it wouldn't start but turns over. Makes puffing sound out of tail pipe and motor shakes but no start. The pressure valve has fuel coming out of it. I tried putting fuel in throttle body and it back fired. Brand new optmia battery 140000 miles on truck. Please help
